Key Duties & Responsibilities - Develop and implement public relations concepts for creating a positive image of the University, i.e. building a good rapport with the media houses;
- Create and manage information flow with the media houses and the general public;
- Gather and evaluate information and public opinions and working out strategies for countering adverse ones;
- Regularly come up with proposals, issues/press releases, write ups, articles, open letters and other media releases that correct wrong impressions and promote the Universityâs image;
- Identify pertinent issues in the media for necessary action;
- Implement public relations and information dissemination programs;
- Respond to information related concerns and queries from the public;
- Disseminate the Universityâs publications to various Colleges/Units;
- Provide the Public with information about the Universityâs activities;
- Organize press conferences and media briefings;
- Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications i. Masterâs degree in Mass Communication or Journalism or Public Relations or Literature in English; ii. Honors Bachelorâs Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism or Public Relations. Experience Minimum of three (3) yearsâ experience working in a similar position Skills/Competences - Concern for quality and standards;
- Ethics and integrity;
- Teamwork;
- Computer literacy;
- Written and oral communication skills;
- Time management;
Records and information management.
