The role involves working closely with young women entrepreneurs, farmer groups, and partners to create sustainable employment opportunities within Ugandaâs coffee value chain. Key Responsibilities Program Implementation & Coordination - Assist in planning and executing project activities as per the work plan.
- Support recruitment, training, and mentoring of young women entrepreneurs in the coffee value chain.
- Conduct field visits to monitor activities, provide technical support and engage beneficiaries.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of project interventions in line with IWCAâs gender-responsive strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships - Build relationships with local farmer groups, cooperatives, coffee processors, and value chain actors.
- Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to strengthen program impact.
- Represent the project in community meetings and stakeholder forums.
Data Collection, Monitoring & Reporting - Assist in collecting gender-disaggregated data to track project progress and outcomes.
- Support the Program director in preparing periodic reports for internal use and donor reporting.
- Document success stories and lessons learned to inform program improvements.
Gender & Safeguarding Compliance - Promote gender-sensitive approaches in program delivery.
- Work with the Gender & Safeguarding Officer to ensure protection measures are followed in all project activities.
- Support awareness campaigns on gender equality, safeguarding, and workplace safety in agriculture.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelorâs degree in agriculture, Agribusiness, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project implementation, preferably in agriculture, coffee, or womenâs economic empowerment programs.
- Experience with farmer cooperatives, youth programs, or rural development initiatives.
- Strong skills in community mobilization, training, and facilitation.
- Ability to effectively collect, analyze, and report project data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Competencies - Understanding Ugandaâs coffee sector and its value chain dynamics.
- Familiarity with gender mainstreaming and safeguarding principles.
- Proficiency in English and local Ugandan languages is a plus advantage.
