The role focuses on promoting youth engagement in climate-smart coffee agronomy, improved farm productivity, and efficient post-harvest handling practices. The Production Officer will work directly with youth-led households, producer groups, and partners to deliver field-level support, training, and technical backstopping. S/he will contribute to enhancing the adoption of modern agronomic practices, basic processing innovations, and inclusive value chain entry points to improve livelihoods and resilience among young farmers. - A Postgraduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension, Gender in Agriculture, or Rural Development is an added advantage.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable but not mandatory for exceptional candidates with strong field experience.
Experience: - At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in agricultural development, with direct involvement in coffee value chains.
- Proven experience supporting youth-focused or gender-responsive agricultural programs in rural settings.
- Strong understanding of rural development, youth engagement, and private sector dynamics.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs such as Mastercard Foundation, Danida, and the EU.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders across community, private sector, and development partner levels.
- Good working knowledge of climate-smart production practices, post-harvest handling, and quality enhancement techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in local languages within the project areas is an asset.
- Passion for female youth empowerment and sustainable agriculture.
