This role involves measuring, mixing, and testing paint batches, ensuring colour consistency and quality while maintaining adherence to safety and environmental standards. Main Duties and Responsibilities - Prepare paint batches by mixing base paints, pigments, solvents, and additives according to specified formulas or work orders.
- Weigh and measure raw materials using scales, viscometers, and other tools to ensure accurate proportions.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of mixed paints by conducting visual and physical inspections (e.g., colour matching, viscosity checks).
- Label and store mixed paint products appropriately and maintain proper documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of mixing equipment, tanks, and work areas to prevent contamination.
- Monitor inventory levels of paint materials and notify the supervisor of shortages or reorder needs.
- Follow safety guidelines for handling flammable or hazardous materials, including the use of PPE.
- Dispose off waste and leftover chemicals according to environmental regulations and company policy.
- Collaborate with the painting/finishing teams to ensure timely supply of paint for production.
- Assist in troubleshooting any paint mixture or application issues reported by the paint line.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - High school diploma or vocational training in relevant field.
- Previous experience in paint manufacturing is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of paint types, color mixing, and chemical safety.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and mix formulations.
- Strong attention to detail and color perception.
- Good understanding of safety and hazardous materials handling.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift materials.
- Basic computer skills for entering batch data and inventory updates.
