ROLES & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - Networking Fundamentals
OSI & TCP/IP models. IPv4 & IPv6 addressing, subnetting, and supernetting. ARP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, PAT. - Switching (Layer 2)
VLANs, trunking (802.1Q), inter-VLAN routing. STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) & its variants (RSTP, MSTP). EtherChannel / Link Aggregation (LACP, PAgP). MAC address tables and switching logic. Port security and switch hardening. - Routing (Layer 3)
Static vs dynamic routing. Routing protocols: Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs): OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS. Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGPs): BGP. Route summarization, redistribution, and filtering. Policy-based routing (PRR). High availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP).
