This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in risk management within the financial services sector. - Assist in monitoring credit risk exposures across the loan portfolio.
- Support the analysis of market risks including interest rate, liquidity, and foreign exchange exposures.
- Help prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Participate in data collection and portfolio segmentation for risk analysis.
- Assist in credit risk assessments of new and existing clients.
- In consultations with Treasury/Finance, Credit and Head of Risk Management, support in establishing internal liquidity, credit, interest rate and foreign exchange management limits and performing monthly stress tests.
- Regularly monitoring and reporting on the regulatory ratios (lending ratios, Liquid Assets/Total Assets ratio, NPA and any others as defined by the regulator)
- Supporting Treasury/Finance in improving and implementing policies and procedures through review of the relevant policies and procedures and recommending the best industry practices.
- Reviewing the Risk and Control Self Assessments for lending departments and Finance
- Following up on internal, external audit Issues and risk assessment recommendations for business departments, Finance, Legal and Credit
- Contributing to system implementation projects in the credit risk space (e.g stress testing, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Credit Management System) by providing requirements and design inputs, particularly with regard to credit risk recognition and measurement
- Ensure data accuracy and support the maintenance of risk databases.
Collaborate with the risk manager and other departments to support risk control initiatives. To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: - Good communication and presentation skills

- Must be a person of impeccable integrity
- Advanced Excel skills using formulas, functions, and pivot tables
- Excel Proficiency in creating Pivot Tables, using data validation and automation of tasks
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Detail-oriented and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of or interest in microfinance, financial inclusion, or emerging markets.
- A Business degree in Risk, Commerce, Economics, Statistics or any other relevant field.
- Possession of a risk management certificate is an added advantage relevant field is an added advantage.
- 1â2 years of relevant work or internship experience in a financial institution
