- Support the Electrical Installation Engineer in managing electrical works related to camps, flow lines, substations, power transmission systems, and coordination with external stakeholders such as UETCL.
Responsibilities: - Support the Electrical Installation Engineer in managing all electrical engineering aspects of the Kingfisher Oilfield Development Project and associated partner projects.
- Conduct and lead technical evaluations for all relevant work packages to ensure alignment with design codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Perform detailed engineering reviews and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Manage electrical engineering interfaces across all packages, including CPF (Central Processing Facility), well pads, infield flow lines, feeder lines, export power transmission lines, and water intake stations.
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and process components.
- Provide technical assistance during construction, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover stages of the electrical packages.
- Responsible for electrical engineering activities related to the development of the permanent camp, temporary camp, supply base, safety check station, and similar facilities.
- Ensure timely and technically sound input into engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
- Resolve site issues in coordination with contractors and consultants.
- Support the Electrical Installation Engineer in the application and follow-up of power plant licenses.
- Coordinate with UETCL for all high-voltage transmission and grid-related issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superior.
Requirements - Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- At least 4 years of professional experience, preferably in oil & gas, power generation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement (e.g., ERA, UETCL, contractors) is highly preferred.
Knowledge - Knowledge of Ugandaâs electricity regulatory framework and grid interconnection procedures is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the criteria, procedure, and software of the discipline
- Experience in electrical systems design, interface coordination, and construction support.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment, including HV/MV/LV transformer, switchgear, generator, UPS, electrical heat tracing system, among others
- Knowledge of electrical protection systems
