Responsibilities: - Conduct periodic economic evaluations and financial modeling of both existing upstream licenses and new ventures, including the performance of detailed sensitivity analyzes to identify the key value driver
- Assess commercial agreements and identify areas of value erosion, develop strategies to rectify the issues, as well as maximize value.
- Assess current and potential commercial activities and business opportunities to ensure alignment of the expected financial returns with company objectives.
- Supervises CNOOC's crude oil and gas sales from a local commercial perspective and ensure that all contractual obligations, appointments, and deadlines are met.
- Keep track of crude oil and gas market prices and trends, and ensure that the economic tools to support sales are robust.
- Support the implementation of the commercial management tools and processes for effective monitoring, control, and reporting of commercial performance.
- Track legislative changes and updates of the industry/sector dynamics.
- Foster strong working relationships with Government MDAs and JV partners to promote transparency and collaborative value delivery.
- Identify and assess commercial growth opportunities, providing structured recommendations on commercial strategy, risk mitigation, and value optimization to the Commercial Manager.
- Support the preparation of unit/section budget and work plans for approval by JV partners and the regulator.
- Provide support on all commercial negotiations
- Contribute to the development of risk matrices to be incorporated into operational / project management reviews.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements - Petroleum Geosciences, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant commercial discipline from a reputable and accredited University.
- At least 5 years' experience in a commercial or similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas / Energy sector.
- Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation
- Experience in Project Economics and Investment Analysis is an added advantage.
Knowledge - Knowledge of the commercial processes
- Familiarity with the oil and gas sector is advantageous.
- Extensive Knowledge of working with economic models
- Knowledge of key contracting concepts, principles, and commercial risk management.
