The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in manufacturing accounting, and a solid understanding of tax regulations in Uganda. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor expenses, budgets, and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan tax laws (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax) and filing returns on time.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Track production costs, raw material usage, and inventory valuation.
- Analyze manufacturing expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for production and operational costs.
- Process payroll, ensuring accurate salary calculations, deductions, and statutory remittances (NSSF, PAYE).
- Verify supplier invoices, process payments, and maintain good vendor relationships.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls to prevent fraud and mismanagement.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Professional certification like ACCA, CPA is a plus).
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing/plastics industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
