- Maintain the weighbridge and general area of the weighbridge including the office in a clean, tidy and hazard free condition.
- Operate weigh bridge scale
- Maintain records of materials weighed.
- Make daily reports highlighting any discrepancies identified
- Report discrepancies of dispatched goods
- Reconcile weight of cargo with documented quantities
- Monitor functioning of weighbridge and report any breakdowns to the Engineering Services Department
- Liaise with Engineering Services Department for periodical calibration of the weighbridge
- Coordinating paperwork for deliveries and collections
- Any other duties assigned by the General Manager
Authority & Independence The Weighbridge Operator has full authority delegated by the General Manager as per the requirements, duties and responsibility of the job Work Conditions - May require working for long hours.
- May work in office or out of most frequently.
- May experience eye strain due to constant use of computers
Physical & Mental Efforts - Must be mentally stable to contain stress and pressure.
- Must be of a sound mind.
- Good visibility
- Sensory stability due to much concentration required for the job
Education Qualifications & Experience - Higher Diploma in any business-related discipline.
- 2 years of relevant experience is required
Skills & Competences - Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
- Effective Verbal and written communication.
- Professional personal presentation
- Customer service orientation skills.
- Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence
- Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions
- Decision making skills is required.
