On behalf of Our client in the manufacturing sector, we are looking for a competent and experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to be based in Namanve. Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Duty Station: Namanve, Uganda. Job Summary: The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the company. This role ensures that warehouse operations support production schedules and that logistics processes meet customer delivery requirements, cost targets, and compliance standards. The manager leads a team of warehouse staff, coordinates with procurement, production, and sales departments, and ensures inventory accuracy, safety, and continuous process improvement. Main Duties and Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control - Oversee daily warehouse functions: receipt, storage, picking, packing, loading, and dispatch of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Implement robust inventory control procedures cycle counts, audits, stock reconciliation to maintain 100% accuracy
- Optimize warehouse layout and racking to maximize storage efficiency and support production throughput.
Logistics & Transportation Management - Coordinate inbound material deliveries and outbound shipping, including carrier selection, route planning, and freight cost negotiation
- Ensure reliable transportation schedules aligned with production needs and customer delivery timelines
- Manage and audit freight invoices, claims, and vendor performance.
Team Leadership & Staff Development - Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse and logistics staff, including forklift operators and loaders
- Develop staff schedules and shift rotas to ensure continuous, compliant operations.
- Lead a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork, conducting coaching and performance reviews.
Safety Compliance & Quality Control - Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards; conduct audits, investigate incidents, and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor storage conditions to ensure product integrity, especially for sensitive or regulated goods
Performance Monitoring & Reporting - Track and analyze warehousing and logistics KPIs (throughput, accuracy, cost per unit, OTIF delivery)
- Generate and present regular performance reports to production and operations management
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization - Identify inefficiencies and lead lean initiatives to optimize storage, handling, and workflow processes.
- Maintain documentation and SOPs, and update processes to align with production changes
Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate closely with production planning, quality control, procurement, and customer service teams.
- Align warehouse and logistics activities with S&OP cycles and production schedules
Budgeting & Cost Control - Manage warehouse and logistics budgets, including labor, transport, and equipment expenses.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and warehouse service providers
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - Bachelorâs degree in Supply Chain Management, Transport and Logistics, Procurement and Logistics or a related field.
- Masterâs Degree in related field (Supply Chain Management, Transport and Logistics, Procurement and Logistics) is an added advantage.
- Professional Certifications (CILT, CLM) are highly considered
- 5-10+ years in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge on Inventory Management and Stock optimization.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo)
- Team supervision, motivation and training skills.
