The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our poultry flocks, implementing disease control measures, and providing expert advice on animal health and welfare. Key Responsibilities: - Flock Health Management:
- Conduct regular farm visits to monitor flock health and detect early signs of disease.
- Develop and implement health plans to promote flock health and reduce disease incidence.
- Investigate and diagnose disease outbreaks, and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Disease Control and Biosecurity:
- Develop and implement biosecurity protocols to prevent disease introduction and spread.
- Conduct regular biosecurity audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with farm staff to ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols.
- Vaccination and Medication:
- Develop and implement vaccination programs to protect flocks from diseases.
- Prescribe and administer medications as needed, following regulatory guidelines.
- Animal Welfare:
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations.
- Provide guidance on animal handling, welfare, and humane treatment.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with farm staff, management, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal flock health.
- Provide regular updates on flock health status and disease trends.
- Communicate effectively with farm staff, management, and external stakeholders.
Requirements: - Degree in veterinary with specification poultry and related courses
- Registration with relevant veterinary authorities.
- Experience in poultry health and disease management.
- Strong knowledge of poultry health, disease diagnosis, and treatment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
