POST COVID 19 BUSINESS FUNDING
Africa Humanitarian Aid and Development Agency (AHADA) seeks to support inclusive economies where individuals, businesses and communities can thrive. Through grant making and investing, the Foundation prioritizes the resilience and growth of micro and small businesses that benefit women. The Foundation also supports broader community needs and disaster response in these times of post COVID crisis.
The first program of $10 million is designated for immediate emergency relief to support charitable organizations on the frontlines responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as public health and food relief, in Latin America and the Caribbean; Middle East and Africa.
The second program is a five-year, strategic $200 million commitment to support small and micro businesses around the world, with a focus on fostering women’s economic advancement. This action expands the Foundation’s long-standing support for small and micro businesses in East Africa. The funds from the Foundation will provide capital to investment partners supporting small and micro businesses.
This calls for projects and businesses targets the following disciplines:
• Agriculture
• Consultancy
• Education
• Fashion
• IT and Digital Arts
• Manufacturing
• Performance Art
• Trade
• Transport
Eligible projects / individuals must be led by individuals or groups living in East African Community being 18 years or above and fall under one of the fields of target projects mentioned above. Special consideration will be given to projects that use innovative approaches to strengthen job creation address relevant issues of African society
Additional Information / Benefits
A project grant amounting to between 1,000 - 100,000 USD will be funded. Support in improving the project’s concept, budget and feasibility will also be provided if needed
