Purpose: We are seeking a competent, safety-conscious, and highly reliable Truck Driver to join our Fleet Operations team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting transportation and supply chain activities by ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of goods while maintaining the highest standards of road safety, customer service, and professional conduct. This position is ideal for an individual with proven experience in commercial driving, strong knowledge of traffic regulations, and a commitment to operational excellence. Duties and Responsibilities: - Achieving on-time delivery rate by adhering to scheduled routes and delivery windows.
- Maintaining a clean driving record with zero at-fault accidents or traffic violations by following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Improving fuel efficiency through optimal driving practices such as reducing idling, maintaining steady speeds and following recommended maintenance schedules.
- Ensuring vehicles are kept in top good condition by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting issues promptly, and adhering to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintaining a high-level of customer satisfaction by delivering goods in perfect condition, providing courteous service and addressing any customer concerns promptly.
- Maintaining compliance with traffic laws to ensure safe driving and avoid express penalties.
- Ensuring accuracy in all documentations needed in transportation, such as logs, delivery notes, by double checking entries and following standard procedures.
- Optimize routes to reduce travel time and fuel costs by using navigation tools and staying informed of traffic conditions.
- Ensure that all goods are properly loaded and secured to prevent damage during transit, following all load securement regulations.
- Uphold a high standard of professional conduct, including punctuality, timely communication, appearance, representing the company positively.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility by effectively handling route changes, delivery adjustments and unexpected challenges while maintaining delivery schedules.
- Handling emergencies, such as breakdowns, accidents and weather conditions by maintaining an emergency kit, emergency procedures, and keeping communication lines open at all times.
- Maintain physical and mental fitness to meet the demands of long-distance driving.

Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience - Minimum of Ordinary Level Education Certificate.
- Certificate in Defensive Driving and training in road safety.
- Must hold a valid driving license with Class C1, CE, C.
- Minimum of three (3) yearsâ driving experience in a multi-cultural environment.
- Fluency in spoken and written English plus the local languages is a plus.
- Sound knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Proven experience working in production, logistics, manufacturing or operations environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of Ugandan traffic laws, road transport regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Good spoken and written English.
