The role ensures reliable connectivity and efficient transport of voice, data, and mobile network traffic using microwave, fiber optic, IP/MPLS, SRV6 transmission technologies. Key Responsibilities - Design and plan transmission network solutions for telecom infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and commission transmission equipment including microwave radios, SDH, DWDM, and IP/MPLS, SRV6 systems.
- Monitor network performance and ensure maximum network availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve transmission network faults and service interruptions.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on transmission equipment.
- Conduct network upgrades, expansions, and optimization activities.
- Coordinate with field teams and vendors during installation and maintenance projects.
- Analyze network performance reports and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with telecom standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical reports.
- Support network rollout projects and integration of new sites.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP,
- Experience in transmission network planning, implementation, and maintenance.
Technical Skills - Microwave transmission systems.
- Fiber optic transmission technologies.
- SDH/SONET, DWDM, and OTN networks.
- IP/MPLS and SRV6 networking.
- Network monitoring and management tools.
- Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Telecom power systems and site infrastructure knowledge.
Key Competencies - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good project coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
Experience - 2 to 5+ years of experience in telecommunications transmission engineering or related network operations roles.
KPI Examples: - Network availability is above 99.9%.
- Reduced transmission outages and downtime.
- Successful project completion within timelines.
- Improved network performance and service quality.
