It serves as a vital administrative, logistics, and technology backbone for UN field operations and peace missions across Africa and other global regions. Key Duties and Responsibilities: The training assistant will carry out the following duties: - Contributes to the development, delivery, and evaluation of training and staff development programmes for uniformed personnel, civilian personnel, and field mission staff.
- These programmes encompass a range of activities including inter alia, technical, and substantive training, safety, and security, including training, leadership and management, communication skills and planning.
- Supports the designing of specific training catalogues to meet unique programme operational requirements and staff development need as well as systems or methods to disseminate information to mission staff on training and development opportunities.
- Supports in organizing, and scheduling training, workshops, briefings, and refresher courses at RSCE and other locations as required for the academy and client missions.
- Prepares training reports for the unit head.
- Evaluate, review and update training material land instructorâs notes.
- Ensures required equipment is available and ready for use for training facility.
- Provides general assistance across the various fields of ICT support services in the mission.
- Coordinates and organizes specialized training programmes with the various functional and substantive areas, that meet cross-cutting training needs such as ICT, gender, etc., as applicable.
- Provides administrative and logistical support to the planning and delivery of a variety of training and learning activities for staff and managers at UNCAP level.
- In charge of e-learning portal for the academy which includes review and processes enrolment of staff in training and learning initiatives through learning management systems and/or automated applications.
- Advises clients on the availability of learning activities and procedures at UNCAP level
- Collects, collates, and maintains statistical data training activities, particularly through automated systems and applications.
- Undertakes research on a range of training-related issues and assists in the monitoring of training and preparation of notes/reports.
- Liaise with military and UN police training officers to ensure that integrated training is developed and delivered to meet cross-cutting needs.
- Prepares written responses to queries concerning training-related matters.
- Acts as the liaison between client missions and the Academy and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Job â Specific Qualification: A technical or vocational qualification in ICT, Training, logistics, or other related field is desirable.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience in programme management, administration or related area is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first level degree or higher.
- Experience collaborating with partners on operational support issues in or with an international organization or similar setup is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and Power BI is desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. French is desirable.
