JOB DETAILS: B1. Overall Purpose of the Job To supervise, control, and coordinate all foundry workshop operational tasks during the production of high-quality cast spare parts. Key Responsibilities 1. Verification of Materials and Quality Assurance: • Verify and check patterns, core-making materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and other raw materials. • Ensure compliance with pre-set dimensional and casting quality standards for patterns and parts. • Maintain quality assurance throughout all production stages to ensure high-quality castings. • Supervise the testing of sand and metal in the laboratory. 2. Training: • Conduct on-the-job training for subordinate staff. • Provide guidance and mentorship to students on industrial training. 3. Task Allocation and Supervision: • Allocate specific job tasks to staff and monitor their performance, providing technical guidance when required. • Record spare parts produced in the workshop inventory. 4. Making Requisitions: • Receive job orders and specify material requirements. • Initiate requisitions for materials for approval by the Foundry Manager. 5. Staff Punctuality and Safety: • Monitor attendance and punctuality of subordinate staff. • Enforce safety, health, and environmental policies, ensuring an accident-free work environment. 6. Other Duties: • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Foundry Manager or management. C. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience C1.1 Education: • Master Craft Certificate in Foundry. • Certificate in Basic Supervision. C1.2 Experience, Skills, and Competencies: • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field. C2.1 Specific Knowledge and Skills: 1. Technical Knowledge: o Moulding and casting processes. o Pattern and core-making expertise. o Identification of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. o In-depth knowledge of foundry technology. 2. Supervisory and Communication Skills: o Good supervisory abilities and effective communication skills. C2.2 General Skills: 1. Communication Skills: o Constant interaction with employees, management, and stakeholders requires excellent communication skills. 2. MS Office Proficiency: o Proficiency in Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint for creating engaging materials, reports, and presentations. 3. Analytical Skills: o Ability to gather and interpret raw information and data, document findings, and provide actionable recommendations. 4. Interpersonal Skills: o A professional, calm, and helpful individual capable of fostering trust and collaboration in the workplace. Work Hours: 8
