The organisation is composed of the Council as its governing body, Committees of Council, a Secretariat for its day-to-day operations with semi-autonomous Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARI’s) under its policy guidance. The Director General invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions at PARIs and NARO Secretariat. Responsibilities - Establish Field Trials: Assist in the establishment and management of agronomic field trials (crop variety trials, fertilizer trials, planting density trials).
- Crop Management: Undertake day-to-day crop husbandry activities including land preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation, and pest control.
- Data Collection: Collect agronomic data (plant height, tiller number, yield components, biomass) according to research protocols.
- Sample Collection: Collect plant and soil samples for laboratory analysis.
- Harvesting: Assist in harvesting, threshing, and recording yield data.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain field equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate field records and logbooks.
