As a Technical Assistant â Phone Refurbishing and Warehouse Operations, youâll be performing various tasks related to phone refurbishing, warehouse stock taking, quality inspection, and device grading. The role will also involve tracking data, conducting visual inspections, and ensuring that all refurbished devices meet the required standards before they are released back into the market. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, an understanding of safety and efficiency protocols, and basic skills in using computer software for data tracking. Key Duties and Responsibilities: -
- You will mostly use computer software to refurbish phones, including reinstalling software, configuring settings, and restoring devices to factory standards.
- Warehouse stock-taking, Assist with inventory management and ensure accurate stock take of returned and refurbished devices. Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels and assist with organizing stock for easy retrieval.
- Quality inspection and grading will also be a big part of your role, where youâll assess functionality, appearance, and battery life before categorizing each phone (think Grade A, B, or C). Getting this right is crucial, as we want to ensure only top-notch products reach customers.
- Youâll also be responsible for data tracking and reporting, keeping detailed records of device status and stock levels using Excel or similar tools. Expect to conduct visual inspections to catch any scratches or defects and follow warehouse safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. Plus, youâll contribute to process improvements using Kaizen principles and ensure all tools and equipment are properly used and maintained.
- Other parts of the job include thoroughly cleaning devices (screen polishing, disinfecting, etc.), offering basic technical support, and troubleshooting minor software or functionality issues.
- This is an onsite role in Uganda reporting to the Care Center and Refurb Team Lead.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Strong attention to detail is a must, as youâll need to spot defects and grade devices accurately. Youâll also need to be efficient and organized, capable of handling a high volume of devices while meeting productivity targets.
- Problem-solving skills will come in handy for troubleshooting minor tech issues and improving processes, while good communication skills will help you collaborate with the team and report any updates.
- A degree in a technical field is preferred, and any experience in phone refurbishing, warehouse operations, or technical support will give you an edge. IT certifications, knowledge of common phone models and operating systems (iOS, Android), or experience using inventory management systems would be a big plus.
- This is a full-time, on-site role in a fast-paced warehouse environment where efficiency, quality, and safety are top priorities. Standard warehouse hours apply, but some flexibility might be required depending on demand.
