JOB DETAILS: Here’s an expanded and detailed explanation of the Selection Criteria as outlined in the image: Selection Criteria To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements: Education • Advanced university degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Economics, Business Administration, or another diploma relevant to the requested activities. The degree must demonstrate a solid foundation in policy analysis, governance, or economic management to align with the role's focus areas. Experience Candidates should demonstrate at least 12 years of relevant working experience, including: 1. Professional Expertise: o Relevant experience in either the private sector or managing technical assistance, advisory services, business projects, or consultancy programs. o Specialized in areas such as private sector development, trade, and investment promotion. 2. Leadership and Coordination: o Proven experience leading teams and coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. 3. Public-Private Collaboration: o Familiarity with facilitating dialogue and collaboration between private and public sectors. Required Knowledge and Skills 1. Sector Knowledge: o In-depth understanding of the European and Ugandan private sector, including business communities based in Uganda. o Knowledge of the local business environment and investment climate. 2. Policy and Development Support: o Experience in supporting policy-making for private sector development, improving trade, and enhancing the investment climate. 3. Strategic Communication: o Expertise in designing and implementing communication and visibility strategies to promote initiatives. 4. Event Coordination: o Competence in managing trade and investment-related events, ensuring they achieve desired outcomes. 5. Specific Project Experience: o Prior involvement in the SB4U Project (Support to Business-Friendly and Inclusive Local Governance in Uganda) is a significant advantage. 6. Regional and Global Knowledge: o Familiarity with EU-Uganda/East Africa Economic, Trade, and Investments relations. o Understanding of the EU’s external actions and investment plans will be considered an asset. Ideal Candidate Profile • The ideal candidate will have a balanced mix of strategic thinking, policy advisory, and hands-on implementation skills. • They will also excel at fostering collaboration between diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment between public and private sector goals.
