The selected candidate will be expected to provide strategic leadership to the Finance and Administration team, ensuring a smooth operation of the Finance and Administration office, making sure the team provides quality service, utilising appropriate economical limitation but still satisfying the expectations of our members and partners. The Team Leader must have a strategic mindset, sound leadership qualities and a broad understanding of financial management principles. The position also provides inspirational leadership in the development and implementation of the finance, human resource, administration and procurement policies in line with UNNGOFâs policy framework and statutory requirements. Responsibilities Managerial Responsibilities - Prepare annual work plans and budgets.
- Present work plans and budgets to the Executive Director and subsequently to the Board.
- Prepare relevant financial reports for the leadership of UNNGOF.
- Oversee the Human Resource & Administration function of the organisation.
- Participate in the fundraising efforts of the organisation.
Professional Responsibilities - Supervise the day-to-day team responsibilities and duties.
- Collect, interpret, and review financial information for decision making.
- Review and approve expenditures and other financial related transactions in line with the financial policies and procedures.
- Predict future financial trends and cash flows.
- Produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
- Participate in developing long-term business plans based on these reports.
- Participate in developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
- Keep records of all donor type funding including receipt and spending of such funds and take part in financial reporting on grants to donors.
- Develop and implement financial reporting systems in line with financial frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Lead the development, review, interpretation and implementation and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures; procurement guidelines, donorsâ financial management guidelines, human resource and other statutory requirements.
- Manage and initiate controls of all aspects of UNGOFâs finances including cash flow.
- Responsible for the stores and procurement function.
- Coordinate external audit engagements in line with the UNNGOF policies and International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting systems and data security.
Candidate Profile - At least 8-10 years of sound technical knowledge and work experience in a reputable organisation.
- Management experience of no less than 5 years with a reputable NGO.
- Experience of working in Non-Governmental Organisations is an advantage.
- Practical experience in using computerised financial accounting packages.
- Bachelorâs Degree in Commerce, or Business Administration (Accounting) or any other relevant qualification.
- Must be a member of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CPA).
- Masterâs Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance and Accounting
