BACKGROUND:
Medecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care. Medecins Sans Frontières - Support Unit Kompakt is looking for a suitable (fresh graduate) for an internship placement as below:
Placement Title SUPPLY INTERN

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
In close collaboration with the supply chain team and under continuous guidance of the assigned supervisor during this placement period, the Supply Intern is to learn how to support the smooth and cost-efficient flow of materials and products throughout the supply process, by supporting the end-to-end supply chain operations of SUKA.
KEY AREAS OF LEARNING SUPPORT:
Procurement:
- Support procurement team in local, regional order management, through strategic sourcing according to MSF procedures and guidelines.
- Receive, prepare and submit to the procurement supervisor for relevant invoices and procurements documents fully compliant with the MSF procedures and regulations, before processing payment.
- Participate in entering data for tendering or market assessment processes.
- Upon completion of the Procurement Process, file and archive the arising documents.
- Assist Procurement supervisor and her Assistant in raising quotations, quotation analyses and preparing procurement documents.
- Draft order confirmations for supervisor approval, and when delegated to do so delegated, send them to suppliers after verification. Participate in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool data entry, cleaning and management.
- Sharing order monitoring updates with field teams according to the available chronogram.
Warehousing - Stock Management:
- Assist in the receiving process by carrying out preliminary checks against the Purchase Order and reporting discrepancies to the Storekeeper or Supervisor for final validation.
- Support in Dispatch of consignment to field location, preparing shipping documents. Follow up with field locations on receipt of the items and submission of signed delivery orders from the field.
- Participate in both mid and end year physical stock taking, inventory and reconciliation.
- With the help of the warehouse supervisor, participate in fast inventory activities and support the preparation of counting sheets and documentation, ensure that the report is analysed, signed and archived.
- Prepare and maintainance of stores records according to MSF standards.
- Support the warehouse team in preparing consignments for dispatch to the field, including assisting with weight verification under supervision when applicable before handing them to the contracted shipping agent/transporter.
Transport and Customs:
- Support Transport Team in updating cargo follow up information (on the board â computer file) Support in preparing internal documents required for importation and exportation of commodities.
- Observe and support in the loading and offloading activities of imports and exports, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures are followed.
- Filing and archiving of transport and customs related documents.
- Supporting the transport and customs department by updating the partnersâ field on all planned shipments.
- Support the Transport & Customs Supervisor in preparing documentation required for customs clearance. If previously trained and only under direct supervision, assist in pre-filling ASYCUDA entry fields without independently releasing submissions.
- Support in Dispatch of consignment to partnerfield location. Any other delegated tasks that contribute to his/her learning.
General:
- Perform delegated tasks that contribute to learning and department objectives.
- Participate in Team meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelorâs degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Experience: Fresh University Graduate only (Preferably 2024 and 2025 Graduates)
Competencies Skills: Team worker, Flexibility, mobility, rigour, proactivity, able to work with multi-disciplinary and multicultural people.
Language: English is mandatory, French is a strong asset.
