Responsibilities or duties
As Students' Affairs' Officer, the accountability profile will include but not limited to:
- Pastoral Care and Support: Provide mentorship and support for students' social, emotional and academic well-being. This will include guiding new students, fostering a positive atmosphere and managing community life within the hostels.
- Work closely with the Director of the Campus in implementing and monitoring systems and procedures to improve students' welfare at the Campus.
- Discipline and Rule Enforcement: Responsible for enforcing hostel rules and regulations, ensuring order, and addressing student misbehaviours.
- Administrative and Facilities Management: Responsible for allocating rooms, maintaining room inventories, managing maintenance tasks (e.g., electrical, plumbing repairs), and supervising all cleaners.
- Maintenance & Cleaning: General cleanliness of the campus environment, offices, classrooms and halls of residence, their surroundings and report any damaged, missing, or broken property.
- Handling career guidance and organising orientation programmes on campus.
- Managing the food and beverage provision for staff and students.
- Supervising catering activities.
- Planning menus in consultation with Chef.
- Recruitment and training of Kitchen staff in consultation with the Director, Human Resources.
- Being in charge of organising, leading and motivating the catering team.
- Being in charge of planning staff shifts and rotas.
- Monitoring the cleanliness of the Kitchen.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, and any other Humanities or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
S/he should have strong interpersonal skills.
Experience in students' leadership, counselling, or working with youth.
S/he should be of high integrity and ethical conduct.
Experience needed
S/he should have a minimum of at least 2 (two) years working experience in a higher institution of learning.
