About Us;

This is an international humanitarian and development Non Governmental Organization in General Consultative status with the (UN COESOC) United Nations Economic and Social Council, and one of the largest in South Korea. Established in 1991, the organization currently conducts missions around the world to improve quality of life and education standards, as well as to provide aid in areas of civil unrest or natural disaster. The organisation secured a funding from South Korea to implement charcoal production from bagasse project in Jinja.

In order to develop and achieve the Project objectives, Good Neighbors International Uganda is seeking to recruit the following employee to work at Head office.

 

Position: Social Economist.

Location: Kampala.

Reports to: Country Director.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation (90%)

·        Evaluate demand and supply of Charcoal production

·        Contribute to clear articulation of impact pathway to achievement of project goals

·        Formulate marketing and promotional strategies for charcoal production in collaboration with key partners.

• Work closely with the Operation’s manager in the implementation of the Project
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Administration (10%)

• Work closely with administration department.
• Help administration department in executing its duties.

·         Any other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline.
• Knowing current government regulations is AMUST

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the implementation of Social economic activities.

• Able to perform work independently in own field of specialization, equipped with knowledge and experience of multiple disciplines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

 

Abilities and Skills

Able to move away from home for long distances for organizational activities

Ability to operate a computer like Ms Word, Excel and power point

He/she must have inter personal skills

He/she must have multi-tasking skills

Skills in report writing
