Social Behavior Change & Gender Officer 2025-07-10T11:15:40+00:00 Food for the Hungry https://cdn.ugashare.com/jsjobsdata/data/employer/comp_1129/logo/fh.jpg https://www.ugashare.com/jobs/ FULL_TIME Napak, Nakapiripirit Kabong Uganda 00256 Uganda Nonprofit, and NGO Admin & Office 2025-07-19T17:00:00+00:00 Uganda 8 A successful candidate will have the following: Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Coordinator and Technical Lead for Social Behaviour Change (SBC), the SBC and Gender Officer will lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all Social behaviour change and gender integration activities for the WFP-funded project âImproving Local Food Systems through Schoolsâ project in the Karamoja sub-region. He/she will develop and roll out strategies that promote positive health, nutrition, hygiene, gender mainstreaming, and protection behaviors. She/he should be able to create and adapt IEC/BCC materials to local contexts, and ensure all interventions align with project goals and standards. Working closely with stakeholders, the officer will drive sustainable mindset and behavior change while advancing womenâs leadership and participation. Serving as the focal point for CSAFE, protection, feedback, advocacy, partnerships, and knowledge management. They will also collaborate with MEAL team and offer technical support on how to integrate Gender and Disability Inclusion specific indicators to inform evidence-based learning and project adaptations. Experience Minimum of 3 years demonstrated professional experience in two or more of the following areas is required Social Behavior change, gender, disability inclusion protection, nutrition and health, education, and agriculture related programming. - Demonstrated experience in Gender Equity and disability inclusion, SBC analysis, action planning and mainstreaming into programs,
- Demonstrated experience in designing, managing, and implementing programme activities to promote gender mainstreaming and disability inclusion and nutrition
- Experience in participatory community engagement and school feeding programs,, farmer groups, or local governments.
- Experience working with Government and other partners (Multi-lateral Agencies, private donors).
- Experience working in Karamoja or similar context is an advantage.
- MUST be able to ride a motorbike with a VALID riding permit
Education/Certifications - Bachelorâs degree in Human Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, Community psychology, Gender Studies, Education, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in similar field is an added advantage
- Females and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply

- Solid knowledge of, food security, health and nutrition sensitive programming and climate adaptation
- Strong facilitation and adult learning principles, especially with smallholder farmers and rural schools.
- Demonstrate gender and disability inclusion mainstreaming at planning and implementation level.
- Ability to write high quality donor reports.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and foster partnerships
- Committed to engaging and empowering communities to improve nutrition, livelihoods
