Site-in-Charge / Radiation Safety Officer job at Industrial X-Ray and Allied Radiographers (EA) Ltd – IXAR

IXAR provides non-destructive testing (NDT) and industrial inspection across Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. That includes industrial radiography, ultrasonic testing, pipeline inspection and radiation safety training.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage day-to-day site operations
• Implement and oversee the radiation protection programme for industrial radiography work
• Keep the site compliant with regulatory requirements and licence conditions
• Monitor radiation, keep dosimetry records, handle source security and report incidents
• Train, supervise and mentor the site team on safe work practices

What we’re looking for:

• A recognised RSO certification or qualification
• At least 4 years of site or field experience, ideally in NDT or industrial radiography
• A degree or diploma in Physics, Engineering or a related field
• Strong knowledge of HSE and radiation safety standards
• Good leadership, communication and documentation skills
