On behalf of Our client in the Manufacturing Sector, we are looking for competent and experienced Shift Engineer to be based in Jinja. Reports To: Production/Manufacturing Head. Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda. Job Summary: The Shift Engineer will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining high-quality standards. Main Duties and Responsibilities - Supervise and coordinate production activities during assigned shifts.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Monitor and optimize process efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues or production problems.
- Lead and develop a team of production staff.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance team for equipment upkeep
- Prepare production reports and analyse data for improvement opportunities.
- Optimize production processes and equipment utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with production equipment
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Monitor and report on production metrics (output, downtime, quality)
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - Bachelorâs Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferably steel production
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production planning and quality control.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
Working Conditions: - Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, 12hours per day operation.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery
