ROLE: Service Technician â Portable and Industrial Compressors The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver high quality service interventions, diagnostics, and customer support for compressor equipment, ensuring maximum machine uptime, customer satisfaction, and growth in parts and service business. Responsibilities or duties Service Execution & Technical Support - Carry out scheduled and unscheduled service interventions and diagnostic activities as allocated by the Back Office.
- Assess the running condition of both existing and new fleet, providing detailed findings and developing parts and service leads.
- Perform technical support tasks including troubleshooting, repairs, commissioning, and warranty-related activities as assigned by the Back Office.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards, service procedures, and quality expectations.
Customer Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong, continuous communication with customers under service contracts.
- Develop and execute proactive customer visit plans aimed at increasing compressor availability and overall customer satisfaction.
- Promote a positive service culture and guide customers on effective consumption of existing stock.
Business Development & Growth - Drive parts and service growth by identifying opportunities during site visits and equipment assessments.
- Generate leads for parts sales, overhaul jobs, service plans, and upgrades.
- Encourage customers to adopt best maintenance practices to extend equipment lifespan.
Market & Competitor Intelligence - Collect, document, and report competitor machine information to support development of competitor installed base data.
- Provide regular insights on market trends, customer behavior, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Reporting & Administration - Submit weekly reports detailing activities carried out, customer interactions, machine conditions, and the plan for the upcoming week.
- Ensure accurate documentation of service findings, parts requirements, and job details using company tools and systems.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Manager in line with the business needs.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills) - Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Technical certifications in compressors, engines, or electromechanical systems are an added advantage.
- Strategic thinking to meet sales quotas and KPIs.
- Strong social skills, enjoy networking and relationship-building.
- Active listening and ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Multicultural communication proficiency.
- Presentation skills (clear, persuasive, and professional).
- Self-motivated with a proactive, decision-making approach.
- Team player open to feedback and continuous growth.
