Purpose of the Job To contribute to excellence in Artificial Intelligence education through high-quality teaching, research, innovation and postgraduate supervision; strengthen the University's research capacity in intelligent systems and emerging technologies; promote responsible AI applications; and contribute to national and global digital transformation through cutting-edge research and innovation. Responsibilities - Provide academic leadership in Artificial Intelligence teaching, research and innovation.
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Artificial Intelligence and related computing disciplines.
- Promote excellence in research, scholarly publication, postgraduate supervision and curriculum development.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to the strategic growth of the Department.
- Foster industry collaboration and promote responsible Artificial Intelligence research and innovation.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department, Dean or University Management.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, intelligent systems, robotics, reinforcement learning and related disciplines according to the candidate's area of expertise.
- Prepare course outlines, teaching materials, laboratory practicals, assessments and examinations in accordance with university policies and quality assurance standards.
- Supervise undergraduate final-year projects and supervise or co-supervise Master's students to successful completion.
- Conduct high-quality research in Artificial Intelligence and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, indexed conference proceedings and recognised scholarly platforms.
- Participate in curriculum development, programme review and accreditation to ensure programmes remain aligned with international AI standards and emerging technologies.
- Mentor Lecturers, Assistant Lecturers and Teaching Assistants in teaching, research, publication and professional development.
- Participate in departmental administration, quality assurance and academic governance.
- Develop partnerships with technology companies, research institutions, innovation hubs and government agencies to support collaborative research, internships and innovation.
- Promote responsible and ethical Artificial Intelligence through research, policy engagement and community outreach.
- Prepare research grant proposals, consultancy projects and innovation initiatives.
- Support AI competitions, hackathons, innovation exhibitions and technology entrepreneurship initiatives.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the University Management.
Qualifications and Experience - An earned PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning or a closely related computing discipline from a recognised university.
- A Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant post-PhD academic and/or industry experience, including at least two (2) years of full-time university teaching.
- A minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals, indexed conference proceedings or scholarly book chapters since the award of the PhD.
- Demonstrated experience or active involvement in postgraduate supervision.
- Evidence of funded research, consultancy, innovation or industry collaboration will be an added advantage.
Remuneration An attractive remuneration package shall be offered in accordance with King Ceasor University's Terms and Conditions of Service.
