Senior Information Technology Officer job at Public Service Commission

Background:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal ICT Officer for performing the following duties:

• Providing technical support in operationalization of the E-Services function;
• Assisting in operationalization and application of E-Services to improve efficiency and effectiveness;
• Undertaking provision of technical support on E-Services, policies, strategies, procedures and other ICT related issues;
• Undertaking monitoring and evaluation of the progress and performance of E-Services and identifying alternative solutions;
• Undertaking implementation of Departmental workplans and reports;
• Undertaking technical initiatives in regard to E-Services and other related ICT activities;
• Operationalizing implementations of hardware and software initiatives to ensure proper functioning and maintenance of ICT equipment across Government;
• Undertaking programmes to promote harmonized development and implementation of E-Services and related ICT systems;
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; or Information Technology; or Information Systems; or Software Engineering and Computer Engineering; or Information Security; or Business Computing; or Telecommunications Engineering; or Electrical Engineering; or Science (with focus on Computer Science; or Mathematics) from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants should have a professional qualification in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library); or System Administration (Linux, Windows); or Networking (CISCO, Huawei, Juniper); or Security (CISM, CISA, Security+, CEH, CISSP); or Cloud technologies (Amazon, Google, Oracle); or any relevant recognized professional qualification. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in a related field will be an added advantage

Experience needed:

Applicants should have a minimum of three (03) years relevant working experience which should have been served at the level of ICT Officer in Government.
