JOB DETAILS: Minimum Qualification Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Environment Management from a recognized University/Institution He/She Must have undergone a Cadet Officers/ Command Course at Uganda Prisons Academy and Training School in case of uniformed staff Working Experience Applicants should have a minimum of three (03) years relevant working experience which must have been served at the level of Environmental Officer. Duties The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Officer for performing the following duties:- - Participating in formulation, review and implementation of policies, legislation, standards, plans and strategies for sustainable environmental management at the National level; - Planning, organising, implementing and reporting on environmental management programmes and activities in the Uganda Prisons Services; - Organizing and implementing sensitization and capacity building plans, programmes, strategies and guidelines for managers, staff and other stakeholders on the currently obtaining National and Regional environmental management strategies and initiatives; - Establishing and maintaining working linkages and collaboration mechanisms with relevant National and International Organizations to support environmental management projects, programmes and initiative by the Uganda Prisons Services; - Preparing and disseminating technical guidelines, booklets and other printed materials on environmental management standards, procedures and practices for the Uganda Prisons Service; - Providing technical leadership in supporting community-based initiatives on the renewal and sustainability of the natural environment; - Preparing and presenting technical/scientific reports to the management of Uganda Prisons Service and other relevant stakeholders; - Preparing and submitting work plans, budgets and performance reports to the relevant authorities for action; - Enforcing implantation of the national and Uganda Prisons Service actions plans on environmental management; - Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
