Senior Engineer job at Public Service Commission

Background:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Engineer for performing the following duties:

• Planning, designing, testing and adoption of appropriate farm power sources, tools, implements and machinery according to technical specifications in conformance with environmental standards;
• Determining and specifying fabrication methods, materials and quality standards and developing the necessary designs, drawings and plant;
• Directing fabrication of appropriate farm power tools, implements and machinery in conformity with acceptable standard;
• Setting standards and procedures for maintenance and repair of farm power tools implements and machinery;
• Designing and testing farm power tools, implementing machinery and related technologies in order to ensure viability, efficiency and effectiveness;
• Building capacity of Local Governments and other stakeholders in mechanization processes, systems operation and maintenance in Agricultural Production;
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering; or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. A Post graduate qualification in any of the above fields from a recognized university or Institution will be added advantage.

Experience:

• Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field of Engineering which should have been served at the level of Engineer in Government.
