Background
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks. The company sales and distributes electricity in Uganda as per ERA License issued on 31 December 2024 covering over 135 political districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Government of Uganda.
UEDCL is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans to fill the following positions;
Job Purpose:
Accountable for end- to- end milestone delivery of connection projects such as the EASP and other donor programs (TBEA, AfDB, KfW). This includes planning, coordinating, supervising, reporting, risk management, and readiness for batch submission to ensure timely, safe, and compliant connections.
The role ensures efficient resource utilization and achievement of project targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Result Areas:
Project Planning & Coordination.
Plan and coordinate connection project activities in line with organizational targets and timelines, develop work schedules and implementation plans for connection projects and ensure optimal allocation of materials, equipment, and personnel.
Implementation & Monitoring
Monitor progress of ongoing connection projects and resolve implementation challenges while tracking performance against project milestones and prepare status reports.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with customers, wiremen, contractors, suppliers, internal departments and external stakeholders including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MOPFED), Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) and funding agencies.

OTIF (On- Time, In- Full) materials availability

Person Specifications:
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Membership in a recognized professional body such UIPE, ERB is an added advantage.
Recognized certification such as ERA, ERB or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in utility or electricity infrastructure project implementation.
Experience supervising field operations and contractors.
Competencies:
Strong project planning and coordination skills
Technical problem-solving ability
Leadership and team management
Communication and stakeholder engagement
Report writing and documentation
Organizational and time management skills
