Job Summary: As a Senior Client Relationship Officer at Statewide Insurance Company Limited (SWICO), the responsibility will include building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their insurance needs, and providing them with tailored solutions. The goal is ensure client satisfaction, retention and growth through exceptional service and product knowledge. This is achieved particularly through quick risk decisions and managing consistency and quality of operational services. The primary objective is to maximize risk-adjusted portfolio contribution, and to grow the premium base of SWICO. The job holder will be responsible for business development both with new and existing customers, where they are expected to increase “wallet share”.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify prospects and convert in line with Statewide Insurance
- Company’s risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to review their insurance needs and coverage.
- Effective use of the company’s system for managing a healthy pipeline and record client calls and discussions.
- Oversee the client on-boarding process and ensure thorough completion of documentation and other related processes.
- Key client calling and briefing on a regular basis for account maintenance and deal negotiation.
- Determine the products that are most effective in meeting customers’ needs and be able to sell these at short notice both reactively and proactively.
- Review and monitor client profitability to ensure no revenue leakages.
- Overall responsibility and accountable for the quality of the assigned acquired portfolio.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling insurance products and services.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Research, create and follow up on target list for potential new business.
- Identify priority customers using the Customer Relationship Planning templates to assess their present and potential contribution.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of clients’ insurance needs and provide clients with tailored insurance solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Present and explain insurance products and services to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Gather all the required information that is needed to prepare and assess insurance applications. Role holder will be expected to input certain key information, such as, judgmental information.
- Work with the Underwriters and Sales Teams to construct good proposals and applications.
- Ensure that all client information and documentation are accurate and up-to-date in the ERP System.
- Control the quality of the portfolio using available triggers and adherence to Risk Management guidelines and policies.
- Review past due premium reports to ensure that they are regularized.
- Review outstanding policy documentation to ensure discipline and quality in portfolio.
- Push for utilization of all company products and coordinate with the marketing and sales teams in ensuring high utilization of multiple insurance products.
- Assist clients with policy applications, renewals and claims processing.
- Monitor and manage policy renewals to ensure continuous coverage for clients.
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-wide risk management framework and internal policies and Policy standards.
- Work with Underwriting, Claims and Sales Teams to ensure the signs of distressed accounts are managed on time to manage and avoid bad and fraudulent claims.
- Ensure that sales/premium reports are submitted on time in line with the company policies.
- Oversee the quality, processing and turnaround of insurance proposal/policy applications and ensure faster delivery. Work with the Underwriting team to respond to client queries.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to clients.
- Resolve client issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Strive to exceed client expectations and enhance client satisfaction.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes and competitive products.
- Participate in industry events, networking opportunities and professional development activities.
- Coordinating with other teams to ensure that clients are well served.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Insurance or other relevant qualification.
- Proven experience of not less than three (3) years in relationship management, sales or a related role in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and business growth.
- CII Qualification or its equivalent is an added advantage. (Candidates without insurance qualifications should be able and willing to pursue further insurance training.)
