MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Senior Business Development Services Officer leads the advisory and support services to entrepreneurs and potential investees. They facilitate access to investment opportunities, guide project execution, and enhance project management capabilities, contributing significantly to the organizationâs mission of fostering sustainable investments crucial to Uganda's socio-economic development. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Identification and Proposal Development - Lead the development of technically sound proposals to secure funding and investment, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and policy guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend transformation strategies for internally generated business ideas into actionable, fundable projects.
Development of Strategic Initiatives - Contribute insights and recommendations to strategic planning, focusing on business development strategies and goals.
- Stay abreast of funding trends and requirements to inform strategic initiatives.
Market Research and Innovation - Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
- Assess feasibility and market risks of potential projects, proposing mitigation strategies.
Capacity Building and Training - Design and deliver training programs and workshops to enhance the skills of potential investors in project funding, execution, and management.
- Provide mentorship and advisory services to entrepreneurs and small business owners supported by the organization
Stakeholder Engagement - Cultivate relationships with potential funders, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in meetings and negotiations related to funding and business development.
Performance Monitoring - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives and proposal outcomes.
- Provide regular reports to management on progress and challenges.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management - Serve as the primary contact for clients seeking BDS support from the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry associations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Project Management and Coordination - Coordinate cross-functional teams and external consultants to deliver tailored BDS solutions.
- Collaborate with Appraisal, Implementation, Post-Implementation Departments, Legal, Finance, and other Directorates as required for effective project development and execution.
Team Leadership and Development - Lead the team by setting clear goals, providing mentorship, fostering collaboration, and driving continuous improvement through feedback and evaluation.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications - Bachelorâs degree in business administration, marketing, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in a related field.
