Background
The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a government agency established in 1990 by an Act of Parliament (Cap 211 as amended) with a mandate to develop and implement strategies for integration of Science and Technology into the national development process. UNCST is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the positions below based at its Offices on Plot 6 Kimera Road, Ntinda, Kampala:
Responsibilities
- Review and conduct quality assurance checks of study protocols to identify areas of non-compliance before registration and final clearance.
- Monitor the scientific and ethical conduct of registered research studies within the National Research Registration Information Management System (NRIMS) and provide advice on the appropriate corrective action in relation to the established research compliance standards.
- Implement tracking mechanisms for progress of cleared studies within NRIMS, and advise Principal Investigators on study implementation requirements.
- Review and recommend studies for inclusion into the research monitoring plan to ensure compliance with established national and international standards.
