AFI focuses on a multi-faceted approach to address food insecurity, malnutrition, health, WASH, environment, gender protection, and research. The organization has established partnerships with the government, industrialists, and local communities and has engaged in humanitarian efforts for international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and UN agencies. AFI is actively seeking for experienced and qualified candidates to fill the position of School Feeding Officer Responsibilities or duties - Support delivery of the Standardized National School Feeding Training Package cascade to School Management Committees (SMCs), head teachers, storekeepers and parent representatives, covering legal/procurement compliance, financial management, supply chain mechanics, and nutrition and climate resilience.
- Monitor school-level food stock balances, losses, pipeline breaks and quality concerns, and escalate promptly to the supervisor and relevant District/WFP focal points.
- Support schools' use of energy-efficient cookstoves and link cook stove maintenance practices to ongoing FSQ and environmental sustainability goals.
- Liaise with District Education Office staff, the Project Management Unit (PMU) and sub-county leadership to ensure coordinated, well-understood programme delivery and alignment with District School Feeding Committees.
- Prepare accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly school feeding progress reports, mapping progress against logframe indicators including gender-disaggregated data.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills) - Bachelorsâ Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Development Studies, or any related field from an approved, recognized and reputable academic institution.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a MUST. Working knowledge of Ngâakaramajong and other languages spoken in the Karamoja region will be an added advantage
- Having a valid Riding permit is an added advantage.
Experience needed - At least two (2) years of working experience in a related field.
