Southgate Industries is a leading fruit processing company, located in Kampala Industrial & Business Park (KIBP Namanve). We process pineapples, mangoes, and bananas into puree, concentrate, and other value-added products.
Job Summary:  The Sales & Distribution Manager is responsible for driving sales and managing the distribution of SGI’s products (pineapple juice concentrate and bottled juice) in the local and international markets. This role focuses on developing distribution networks, managing sales teams, and ensuring the company meets its sales targets. The position requires close coordination with logistics and marketing teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Â Â The Sales & Distribution Manager oversees:
- Sales Strategy and Execution
- Distribution Network Development
- Team Management
- Customer Relationship Management
Duty/Responsibility
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company sales targets for both concentrate exports and bottled juice for local and regional markets.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution channels, including supermarkets, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Manage and expand distribution networks to ensure wide market coverage and product availability.
- Negotiate and manage distribution contracts, ensuring timely product delivery and competitive pricing.
- Supervise and mentor the sales team, including Sales Executives and Distribution Officers, ensuring they achieve their individual targets.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide training to the sales team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and retail partners.
- Handle key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction through prompt response to inquiries, complaints, and feedback.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and adjust strategies to meet dynamic market demands.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure efficient product distribution and timely deliveries.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure brand alignment and sales-driven promotional campaigns.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Sales and Distribution – At least 3-5 years of experience in sales and distribution, preferably in the food and beverage industry or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods).
- Knowledge of Market Dynamics in Uganda – Understanding of the local fruit juice market, customer preferences, distribution networks, and key retail players.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
