Job Title: Supply Chain Director UBL
Purpose of Role
Leads the end-to-end supply chain management for all activities from sourcing, planning through to manufacturing and distribution of our products.
Plays a pivotal role in fortifying the supply chain organization by cultivating future-fit talent, capabilities, and culture. This strategic focus ensures the supply chain remains resilient, agile, and aligned with evolving business landscapes.
Provision of expertise to UBL Exec and business. Lead UBL operations and provide relevant thought leadership to meet key strategic objectives and deliver against business targets.
To manage the effective integration/ interaction between Supply and Demand to enable the business to improve value.
To deliver all innovation and renovation effectively to plan whilst continuing to drive down Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) through an effective and efficient manufacturing and distribution system.
Support Board and MD in strategic direction setting through timely and complete performance analysis and communication
Role Dimensions
Leadership Responsibilities
This position has overall strategic direction over the supply chain department. The position leads a UBL supply leadership team and has overall strategic accountabilities on people, GOGS, CAPEX and ensures the function delivers agreed targets as per Annual Operating Plan.
Top Accountabilities
1. Strategic
Responsible for total business performance and has decision making authority for performance-related issues.
Agrees level of required functional resource to achieve performance goals with MD, Function Heads and Global leadership
Acting as a key member of the Global & EABL Supply leadership team, build effective partnerships with internal collaborators: UBL Exec, EABL & Global Supply and other supply centers.
2. Financial
Ensure that the UBL organization delivers its financial targets and performance promise. To generate the strategy and immediate financial year plans that lower COGS. Improve Quality, Service, and Environmental Health & Safety. Act as a genuine business partner in developing and delivering ways of working. Provide flexibility, supply solutions, and find opportunities and innovation. Improve individual, team and performance in the Supply.
Deliver operations strategy that supports the Global beer Vision, to support the significant growth for all UBL brands, and deliver significant benefit to the overall UBL business.
3. People & capability Development
Engage, lead and develop people in the business by unlocking their potential.
Ensure that people are being developed to provide effective succession planning.
Champion the Inclusion and Diversity agenda both in Supply and also support the same in the organization.
Develop âworld class performanceâ (for quality, Environmental Health & Safety, service, cost & flexibility) and create opportunities for competitive advantage across UBL and Global Beerâs brewing and drinks industry.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
4. Sustainability Agenda
Develop a roadmap to deliver on the sustainability commitments for UBL in line with the 2030 Spirit of Progress agenda.
Partner effectively with the Corporate Relations team to elevate the sustainability agenda in the organization
Qualifications:
Honours degree or equivalent experience in Sciences/ Commerce/Planning/ Economics or relevant field
Professional IBD qualification â preferably at Masters level
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 7 years Supply Chain/Logistics experience at Senior Management level, preferably in an FMCG environment.
Experienced in supply chain/Logistics planning and strategy
