Ensure that all vouchers are properly completed and authorized before they are posted to the SACCOâs books of accounts. Key Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Implement established internal financial controls.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual and other necessary financial reports in time.
- Review timely bank reconciliations.
- Perform periodic and surprise cash counts to ensure the petty cash system is properly maintained.
- Review all payment/ loan requests for completeness and adequacy of supporting documentation.
- Ensure that activity funds advanced (contingency funds) are accounted for within 48hrs after the completion of such an activity.
- Ensure that statutory deductions are properly accounted for and remitted to the relevant authorities within the required dates.
- Prepare financial statements for external audit purposes
- Coordinate the External audit exercise for the SACCO.
- Compile & consolidate the SACCO Annual budget.
- Prepare and submit variance and other management reports as required.
- Provide technical and financial management support of the SACCO
- Ensure proper utilisation and timely accountability of funds of the SACCO.
- Organize quarterly executive meetings
- Organize SACCO Annual General Meeting on time
- Maintain the SACCO Assets/ Inventory register
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Applicants should possess a Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce, 2 years in a position with heavy accounting responsibilities in a reputable SACCO or organization, preferably an NGO.
Special Knowledge - Knowledge of financial accounting procedures
- Knowledge of planning, budgeting, reporting and auditing
- Knowledge of SACCO/ cooperative management
- Key Skills: Supervisory Skills, Organizing Skills, Public Relations Skills and Hands-on-computer skills in MS Word, Excel and relevant accounting packages
- Other Qualities/Attributes: Highest level of honesty and integrity, appropriate degree of assertiveness and Speed and accuracy
