JOB DETAILS: The Kampala Business Lounge is a new project set to open in Downtown Kampala in July. We would like to get the team ready so that training can take place and have the hired staff present from inception and thus able to fit into the system. Position: Restaurant Hostess Job summary: We are seeking a friendly and professional restaurant Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless dining experience from arrival to departure. Key responsibilities: 1. Greeting Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a friendly and courteous demeanour. 2. Seating Arrangements: Manage the seating chart efficiently to optimize table turnover while accommodating guest preferences and special requests. 3. Reservation Management: Confirm reservations, maintain an accurate record of bookings, and communicate effectively with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service. 4. Guest Assistance: Assist guests with providing menus, answering inquiries about the restaurant, menu items, and special promotions. 5. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the hostess station and waiting area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. 6. Communication: Liaise with the serving staff, kitchen team, and management to relay guest preferences, special requests, and any issues that may arise. 7. Upselling: Promote special menu items, beverages, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. 8. Problem Resolution: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction. Qualifications: 1. Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required. 2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. 4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 5. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 6. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. 7. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Work Hours: 8
