The role involves making and confirming passenger reservations, issuing tickets, handling payments, and providing assistance to passengers with special needs. The agent will also promote Uganda Airlines products to generate revenue and support operational efficiency. Responsibilities or duties: - Make and confirm reservations for passengers using flight timetables, airline manuals, and reference guides.
- Perform flight firming checks to maximize utilization and minimize no-shows.
- Issue tickets and Passenger Travel Advisories, quoting correct fares.
- Advise passengers on schedule changes, cancellations, or confirmations.
- Maintain inventory of available passenger space and communicate changes to load control and other stations.
- Ensure sales reports are closed timely and accurately.
- Assist travel agents with seat confirmations, upgrades/downgrades, and handle Miscellaneous Charges Orders (MCOs) and refunds.
- Respond to emergencies or operational disruptions affecting airline operations.
- Support succession planning through personal development and training of other employees.
- Promote Uganda Airlines products and services to generate revenue.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications or requirements: - Certificate in IATA (mandatory).
- Diploma in Sales & Marketing.
- Knowledge of Computer Reservation Systems and IATA processes (advantage).
- High computer proficiency.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (advantage).
- Sound understanding of mathematics and world geography.
- Strong customer service skills, integrity, resilience, and teamwork.
- Proactive, results-oriented, warm, friendly, self-motivated, and presentable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
