1. INTRODUCTION

Nyakayjoo Sacco Ltd is a member owned, used and controlled institution registered under the Co-operative laws of Uganda Reg. NO 70931. It is located at T’anise.Mohama – Kabale High way. The organization now wishes to call for expression of interest for the services of an external audit firm for the financial year 2028/2027.

2. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Nyakayjoo Sacco Ltd therefore seeks Technical and Financial Proposals from reputable Auditing firms for this appointment. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the required services and the information may include:

• The firm’s profile including general qualifications of partners,

• All least low references from other reputable corporate clients,

• Portal similar assignments undertaken,

• Experience of all least 8 years in similar conditions

• Expected audit fees.

3. SCOPE OF THE AUDIT

The audit will be carried out in accordance with the International Auditing Standards and will include tests and verification procedures as the auditors deem necessary.

• Ensure that all goods, works and services financed have been procured in accordance with established rules and procedures.

• Ensure that appropriate supporting documents, records and books of accounts relating to all activities have been kept. Client images should exist between the books of accounts and the financial statements presented.

• Ensure that the financial statements have been prepared by Nyakayjoo Sacco management in accordance with applicable accounting standards as well as give a true and fair view of the financial position of Sacco of its receipts and expenditures for the period ended under review.

• Include in the audit reports opinions on compliance with procedures designed to provide reasonable assurance of detecting misstatements due to errors or fraud that are material in the financial statements.

• Assess whether statutory laws and regulations have been complied with, including relevant business or tax registrations, certificates to operate, with particular attention to Payroll related compliances (withholding taxes, insurances, social security and other labour law related compliances).

• Assess procured and there is verifiable ownership by the organisation and have been maintained in line with Nyakayjoo Sacco policies.

4. DELIVERABLES

The Auditors, on completion of the audit work, will submit 5 (five) original copies of the Audit Report appended to the Financial Statements along with the reports to the attention of the Board of Nyakayjoo Sacco Ltd.
Management letter in accordance with the scope of work described here before.

5. AUDITOR INDEPENDENCE

The auditors’ trust has completely imparted and independent from all aspects of management or financial interests in Nyakayjoo people’s Sacco. The auditors’ should not, during the period covered by the audit, not during the undertaking of the audit, be employed by, serve as director for, or have any financial or close business relationships with any senior participant in the management of Nyakayjoo people’s Sacco. The auditor should disclose any relationship that might possibly compromise his/her independence.

6. CONTRACT DEMATION

The contract will be for one year (“Y 2029/27”) in accordance with the Uganda statutory regulations, and the audit exercise to each year will be Mid-year and End Year Audit with possibility of extension on request and upon evaluation of every year to a period of four years.
