The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) in Kampala Uganda is seeking interested business firms and organisations registered in Uganda to undertake disposal of food commodities unfit for human consumption by destruction. These stocks of commodities comprise of assorted commodities of food components in varying quantities that are from time to time rendered unfit during transport and handling and are located at warehouses in Kampala, Tororo and Gulu. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This request for EoI is not an invitation to tender nor does it imply automatic selection to WFP's shortlist. No rates/prices are required at this stage, and this invitation does not bind WFP to issue any tenders or to contract the companies expressing their interest. Furthermore, WFP reserves the right to change or cancel this process or any of its requirements at any time during the process. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT WITH THE EOI: In order to participate in the prequalification exercise, companies are required to provide all the below listed documents by electronic mail (E-mail) as indicated below. - A letter of Expression of Interest typed on an official letterhead clearly specifying the physical address of the business.
- Business/organisation's profile (background), including contact details (e-mail, website, address/physical location, telephone, etc)
- An original letter of support from the firm's/organisation principal financial banker outlining the firm's/organisation's financial status and credibility. If such a letter is issued in the name of an individual (guarantor) related to the firm/organisation, clearly state the guarantor's exact position in the firm/organisation and/or other links with the firm/organisation.
- Completed WFP Logistics Service Questionnaire. Interested companies should request for the Logistics Services Questionnaire via email on kampla.logisticscontracting
wfp.org - Business firm's/organisation Audited Financial Statements for at least two of the past three years (2023, 2024 and 2025) or expressed intention to provide such statements within one month (including bank statements).
- Business firm's/organisation Certificate of Incorporation or registration.
- Company's tax registration certificate (including VAT).
- Evidence of registration in Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing System (EFRIS)
- Income tax clearance certificates for at least two of the past three years (2023, 2024 and 2025).
- Company's current trading license
- Copies of Organisation/ Business firm's policies on Anti-Fraud & Anti-corruption practices, Prevention of sexual exploitation & abuse, and Gender parity in the staff structure.
- Information on experience in this type of services. WFP requires copies of three reference letters from companies/organisations your firm/organisation has provided and/or is providing similar services.
- A valid operating licence from National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
All the above listed documents should be prepared in accordance with the instructions provided labelled "Request for Expression of Interest to Dispose Food Commodities Unfit for Human Consumption by Destruction Ref.: F.03.01.13175" and sent by email to kampla.logisticscontracting wfp.org before the deadline. WFP will not consider incomplete or unsigned submissions as well as submissions after the stipulated deadline. Any questions related to this Expression of Interest should be directed to kampla.logisticscontracting wfp.org After the deadline for submission of responses has passed, WFP will evaluate responses received and will notify eligible participants of the outcome of the evaluation. WFP does not charge any fee for companies to participate in the entire process.
