WASSHA Africa Uganda Ltd is a fast-growing start-up solar energy company in Uganda offering alternative energy solutions to people who have no or limited access to power. We empower them by offering an affordable and clean energy service to enhance their businesses and/or improve their standards of living. We engage an agent in a village (“Agent”) as the charging station to distribute the product to customers.

Job Summary:  The Information Systems Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining, upgrading, and securing our information systems infrastructure. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to ensure the smooth operation of our IT environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the organization’s information systems infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor system performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Develop and implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide technical support and guidance as necessary.
• Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in information systems and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
• Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the effectiveness of our information systems.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Three years of working experience in similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of information systems infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks.
• Proficiency in system administration and troubleshooting across various platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux, etc.).
• Experience with managing and configuring Azure Active Directory for user authentication and access control.
• Familiarity with PBX systems and VoIP technologies.
• Knowledge of SIP and related telecommunication protocols.
• Excellent English language skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Language Skills

• Japanese, we are a Japanese company, and a lot of our knowledge base is still written in Japanese.
• Swahili, French, Portuguese, as our customer base is located in countries using these languages.
