The Relationship Officer - SME reports to the Relationship Manager and is responsible for recruiting clients, visiting prospective clients’ homes and businesses to assess creditworthiness, and managing loans of at least Ugx. 15,000,000. The officer will play a key role in expanding client relationships and ensuring effective credit management. Key Responsibilities - Analyze existing customer data to identify expansion and/or additional business opportunities.
- Conduct loan appraisals and oversee loan disbursement.
- Proactively cross-sell and acquire new client relationships, tailoring solutions to customer needs.
- Follow up on loan repayments and manage recovery processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all loan documentation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications - Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Development Economics, Economics, Development Studies, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Financial Services and Business Computing, International Business, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Science, SWASA, Education, Microfinance, Adult and Community Education, Community Psychology, Procurement & Chain Supply Management, Procurement & Logistics Management, Human Resource Management, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Project Planning and Management, Entrepreneurship and Project Planning, Public Administration and Management, Sales and Marketing Management, B. Agriculture & Rural Innovations, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension, Engineering, or any other relevant/related field.
- 2 Principal passes at A’ Level.
- Credit and/or Pass in English and Mathematics at O’ Level.
Required Experience - At least 3 years’ experience as a Credit Officer or Loans Officer in a Financial Institution.

- Readiness to continuously deliver exceptional performance and challenge oneself.
- Computer literate, highly motivated, innovative, and a self-starter.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Honest, trustworthy, and possessing a high degree of integrity.
- Fluent in commonly used local languages in the respective regions.
- Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle.
- Must not be more than 40 years of age.
