Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Implement duties as per medical procedures in line with organisation standards, Baby Watoto Medical Policies, and maintain practice accordingly.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds and ensure that clinical issues are resolved promptly to prioritise infantsâ welfare.
- Identify and contain infections early and implement appropriate infection control measures with diligence.
- Participate in infantsâ feed calculations and nutritional management of those with malnutrition, under the guidance of the Nurse Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and provide regular clinical updates on infants.
- Participate in health programmes within and outside Watoto as and when a need arises.
- Participate in colleague-led training to maintain a high standard of care and implement evidence-based education and practice.
- Promote good health and hygiene for the infants through regular health-related education to the general staff.
- Assist nannies when other duties allow in feeding, bathing and general baby care.
- Perform daily duties as allocated by Nurse Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
- Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least two yearsâ experience in nursing in a school setting.
- Have a current up-to-date practising license and Knowledge of basic computer software.
- Passionate about community health care with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to working within standardised guidelines of Nursing care.
