Key Responsibilities: - Patient Care:
- Provide direct nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress and document observations in medical records.
- Assist in managing patient emergencies and coordinate with physicians and specialists.
- Clinical Duties:
- Maintain accurate patient records and prepare required reports.
- Support infection prevention and control procedures.
- Prepare patients for medical procedures and assist during examinations.
- Perform wound dressing, IV insertion, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care.
- Liaise with other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in ward rounds and case discussions.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to national and facility-specific health and safety regulations.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical medical practices.
- Follow Ministry of Health and Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) guidelines.
Qualifications: - Diploma or Bachelorâs Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
- Valid practicing license.
- CPR and Basic Life Support certification is an added advantage.
Experience & Skills: - Minimum of 1â2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
