The officer will be responsible for building the capacity of farmer organizations and school actors in regenerative agriculture practices, water conservation, biodiversity promotion, and ecosystem restoration approaches that increase productivity and climate resilience. The role demands close collaboration with Nutrition Officers, Gender, Monitoring Evaluation Accountability Research and Learning (MEARL), and community structures to ensure sustainable agricultural practices are adopted by farmers and integrated into school gardens and community demonstration plots. Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in implementing sustainable agriculture or climate resilience projects. - Experience working with community-based organizations, Community Based Facilitators, Lead farmers, and farmer groups in rural or semi-arid areas.
- MUST be able to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
Education/Certifications - Bachelorâs degree in agriculture, Agroecology, or related field.
- Training certification in climate-smart agriculture, permaculture, or soil health restoration is an added advantage.
Job Level Specifications - Solid knowledge of regenerative agriculture, agroecology, and nature-based climate adaptation.
- Experience designing and supporting farm-based demonstrations and community training models.
- Strong facilitation and adult learning skills, especially with smallholder farmers and rural schools.
- Familiarity with ecosystem restoration, water harvesting, and soil health improvement techniques.
- Demonstrated capacity to evaluate soil health and apply organic and agroecological methods (e.g., composting, mulching, biochar, green manure) to restore soil productivity and enhance ecosystem functions.
- Skilled in engaging local communities to blend traditional farming techniques with scientific approaches for sustainable and culturally appropriate solutions.
- Ability to write high quality donor reports.
