The National Agricultural Research Organisation is established by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate with the mandate to provide strategic direction for publicly funded agricultural research in Uganda. The organisation is composed of the Council as its governing body, Committees of Council, a Secretariat for its day-to-day operations with semi-autonomous Public Agricultural Research Institutes (PARIâs) under its policy guidance. The Director General invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions at PARIs and NARO Secretariat.
Responsibilities or duties
- Records Management: Develop and implement records management policies, procedures, and classification systems.
- Archiving: Appraise, preserve, and archive institutional records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Digitization: Oversee the digitization of physical records and development of digital archives.
- Access Control: Manage access to archives and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Record Retrieval: Facilitate efficient retrieval of records for research, legal, and administrative purposes.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventories and finding aids for all archived materials.
- Disposal: Manage the secure disposal of records in accordance with retention schedules.
